THE ART & TOUR
WE RISE. originated in April 2020 with Australian multidisciplinary artist, Toni Short and a four-feet squared piece of art she found on the streets of New York City. Giving the reclaimed piece a new start, she layered acrylic over acrylic on canvas revealing the visual message of women rising up.
To Toni, WE RISE. then and now symbolizes the strength and beauty of women’s spirit to break through energy and transform their life. The piece became the inaugural symbol in Toni’s latest collection, inspired by her own metamorphosis, TAKE 2. Offering “old” or “abandoned” art pieces a chance to tell a new story through Toni’s artistic expression and unique voice.
Toni brought the art of self reclamation to life with the WE RISE. TOUR for IWD 2024. in her home town NYC, where she launched the Spirit Sister Stories LIVE movement.
A container for community that fosters creativity, authenticity and sisterhood. Experiences that create positivity through sharing stories and empowering womxn.

Over the summer of 2025, community artist Toni Short and The Sisters brought the Spirit Sister Stories: Summer Camp to life, a unique urban retreat that connected and empowered the inner child of every womxn who joined.
We fostered a vibrant community through inspiring gatherings, intimate interviews, and captivating performances that illuminated the profound journeys of womxn, leaving a lasting feeling of joy, transformation, and sisterhood.

Collective Radiance is a pop-up experience that brings the transformative power of Spirit Sister Stories to communities around the country.
Born out of the magic of Spirit Sister Stories: Summer Camp, this showcase is a vibrant and powerful experience of truthful expression, featuring performances in storytelling, spoken word, art, and film.
It is designed to create a ripple effect of collective joy, fostering connection and illuminating the profound journeys of womxn wherever it goes.
